JULY 6, 2022 – Social media awash with news today that YAESU is about to introduce a new transceiver – the FT-710. It will cover 160-6m with 100w output. Note: The FT-710M and FT-710S are the 50 and 10 watt versions of this new radio. Scheduled to be released in late August, the price is still unknown. Any radio in the top 20 is going to be good, but getting a radio in the top 4 is a pretty good thing! Actually hybrid SDR's are better than pure SDR's as demonstrated with the 7300, the FT DX 10 handles better noisy environment and doesn't get overloaded when the 7300 does because of that hybrid arquitecture.One of the comments made in that video is that the FT-DX10's A/D is "audio grade" as opposed to the "much more expensive A/D" in the 710. I'm still puzzled over the advantage of one technology over the other. The DX10 seems to be the better radio now, but perhaps a firmware update in the 710 could really make it awesome. Good. Yaesu FTDX10 vs. FTDX1200. I'm considering one of these radios. The FTDX10 I can purchase new, whereas the FTDX1200 I can purchase used. The FDX10 has great reviews for filtering, but has one antenna connection, whereas the FTDX1200 has two (RX input). Yaesu needed a radio to compete with the Icom IC-7300 in that price range and the FT-710 fits the bill. I have had a few IC-7300 rigs bouncing around and trying other rigs and I really like the IC-7300 a lot. I am now running a Yaesu FTDX10 and love it.

I had seen some ad's for this new FT710 which looks like a new lower cost version of the FTDX10, maybe it might be directly competitive with the 7300 but with some added features that are NOT on the 7300 but many wish these features to be added.
