Novice Member. Oct 30, 2021. #1. I have recently bought a Sony STR-DH790 receiver. I have a few issues hope someone can help. Sometimes when playing a dvd the back speakers don't seem to work at all. I have the 5.1 set up through B&W speakers, the front speakers work ok, occasionally I will get music coming through the back but nothing else.Note. Best value for the money ever when you can get the sale at 350. I've tested this with about a dozen Atmos movies, varying formats, and sampls from HD Trailers, but nothing kicks out that overhead sound on the 5.1.2 format. edit to add the Auto Calibrate works if I set either 5.1.2 or 7.1 patterns and calibrate, and sound does produce from those top ceiling speakers during that process..
